Adding your logo to a QR code
Embedding your logo in the centre of a QR code makes it instantly recognisable and on-brand. Unqode SmartQR handles the technical details automatically to keep the code scannable.
How to add a logo
- Open a QR code in the editor or create a new one.
- Scroll to the Design section.
- Click Upload Logo and select an image file.
- Supported formats: PNG (recommended), JPG, SVG. Maximum size: 500 KB.
- The logo appears in the QR code preview. Save your changes.
What happens to error correction?
When a logo is added, Unqode SmartQR automatically sets error correction to Level H (30%). This means even if up to 30% of the code's modules are covered or damaged, it can still be scanned correctly. This is what makes logo embedding safe.
Logo size guidelines
- Keep the logo under 30% of the total QR code area
- Use a logo with a solid background (transparent PNGs work best)
- Avoid logos with very fine detail — they won't be legible at small sizes
- Square or circle logos work best in the centre of a QR code
⚠️ Always scan-test after adding a logo. If the code doesn't scan reliably, try a smaller logo or increase the QR code size.
Pro plan requirement
Logo embedding is available on the Pro and Business plans. The Free plan supports basic colour customisation only.
