Creating your first QR code

Creating a QR code with Unqode SmartQR takes less than two minutes. This guide walks you through from sign-up to downloading your first code.

Step 1 — Sign up for a free account

Go to smartqr.unqode.com/signup and create a free account. No credit card required. The free plan includes 3 dynamic QR codes and 500 tracked scans per month.

Step 2 — Go to Create QR

After logging in, click Create QR in the left sidebar or the green button on the dashboard.

Step 3 — Choose a QR type

Select the type of content your QR code will link to. The most common choice is Website URL. Other options include vCard contact, WiFi, SMS, email, landing page, and more.

Step 4 — Enter your content

Fill in the destination — for a URL, paste your website link. For WiFi, enter your network name and password. Each type has its own form.

Step 5 — Customise (optional)

Change colours, add a logo, choose a frame style, or set a custom short URL slug. This step is optional — the QR code works without any customisation.

Step 6 — Save and download

Click Create QR Code. Your code is saved to your dashboard. From there, click the download button to get it in PNG, SVG, or PDF format.
